Production Support Engineer

Astea Solutions is a full-services software development company and we are looking to assemble a team of Production Support Engineers to work on the performance monitoring of a complex mobile app for one of our largest US-based clients in the Automotive industry. The team will consist of 5 people who will work on shifts to cover 24/7 monitoring of the existing complex infrastructure. The working schedule will be flexible and defined by the entire team. The average weekly workload is expected to be approximately 34 hours. The onboarding period is expected to be between one and three months. The target systems are developed by other team members. You will be working in close contact with both the US-based business users and the Astea’s DevOps, Development and QA teams. This position provides the opportunity to gain experience in a cross-team international environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant education in engineering
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • DevOps knowledge, preferably Linux, networking, databases, Amazon Web Services (Lambda, APIGW, Cloudwatch, Kinesis Firehose)
  • Experience with APM monitoring tools and logging solutions, preferably New Relic, Splunk, Firebase Crashlytics
  • Understanding and interpreting system configurations and architectural diagrams
  • Very good level of English, both written and spoken (B2/C1)
  • Good team players

 

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of programming language concepts, preferably NodeJS, React
  • Knowledge of databases
  • Knowledge of Terraform

 

Responsibilities:

  • Active monitoring and root cause analysis
  • Communication with Bulgarian and American teams of developers, QAs and product owners
  • Monitor for anomalies by analyzing performance charts and metrics and application logs
  • Perform configuration changes to the environment when such changes will fix the issue
  • Evaluate and improve the perf monitoring processes where needed
  • Build and integrate various dashboards in monitoring and reporting tools
  • Proactively monitor the system performance and KPIs
