Advance Auto Parts, Inc. is a Fortune 500 company. The automotive retailer sells aftermarket parts, accessories, and maintenance items to both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers. As of July 13, 2019, Advance operates 4,912 stores and 150 Worldpac branches in the United States and Canada.
Advance Auto Parts needed a technological partner to help them develop their B2C mobile application as a critical part of the company’s ongoing digital transformation initiative.

The Advance Auto Parts mobile app is an always-in-your-pocket, direct connection with customers that provides them with the products, information, and education they want, when and wherever they need it. It aims to deliver an innovative, rave-worthy shopping experience by using emerging technologies and user experiences to help customers solve their automotive problems.
The application allows users to quickly find the right part, check availability online or in store, and easily order parts for pickup or delivery. They can also save vehicles to their virtual garage, find stores near them, view and redeem loyalty programs rewards.
Looking for smooth user experience, highly responsive UI, and great performance, Astea Solutions’s team and Advance Auto Parts chose to build the mobile application with React Native. To provide an interface for the mobile application to communicate a custom API solution on top of the existing e-commerce systems was required. It was built using Cloud native solutions such as AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda powered with Node.js. These backend services will power all of the B2C applications from Advance Auto Parts including the new and revamped website, which is also being developed with the help of the engineering team from Astea Solutions.

The application for both iOS and Android has been officially launched in March 2020 and has gained a lot of positive feedback. The development continues as new features and functionalities are being introduced.
For its work with AAP, Astea Solutions was awarded with the “Partner of the Quarter” award on August 20, 2020.

Advance Auto Parts, Inc. operates more than 5,000 stores and 150 branches across the United States and Canada. The company sought a technology partner to develop its B2C mobile application as a cornerstone of its ongoing digital-transformation initiative.

The Advance Auto Parts app delivers a direct, always-on connection with customers — providing the products, information, and education they need anytime, anywhere. Designed to create a seamless and satisfying shopping experience, the app leverages emerging technologies and intuitive UX design to help users solve their automotive challenges with ease. Customers can find the right part quickly, check in-store or online availability, and order for pickup or delivery. They can also save vehicles to a virtual garage, locate nearby stores, and manage loyalty-program rewards.

To achieve exceptional performance and responsiveness, Astea and Advance Auto Parts chose to build the app with React Native. The backend was developed using cloud-native solutions such as AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda, powered by Node.js, to create a custom API layer integrating with the company’s e-commerce systems. These services now support all of Advance Auto Parts’ B2C applications, including its redesigned website — also developed with Astea’s engineering team.

Launched for iOS and Android in March 2020, the app has earned widespread positive reception. Ongoing development continues to add features and enhancements. For its partnership, Astea received Advance Auto Parts’ Partner of the Quarter award on August 20, 2020.
