At Astea we design, implement, and support multi-platform, large scale applications. We are looking for talented and skilled DevOps Engineers to expand our current team in establishing steady and reliable operation of development and production environments for our applications. We use Amazon Web Services extensively, as well as Google Cloud, and Azure. The technology stack also includes Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, among others.
Our development teams are distributed across the USA and Bulgaria. The work of the DevOps engineer requires intensive collaboration with various stakeholders, including client representatives and team members across the ocean.
Responsibilities
- Working with software engineering teams on design and implementation choices of large-scale distributed systems
- Automating systems deployment, configuration management, and disaster recovery
- Performing proactive system maintenance and operational procedures
- Troubleshooting platform issues, performing root cause analysis and providing fixes or workarounds
- Generating and maintaining internal documentation regarding system architecture and resolutions of known issues
- Real-time troubleshooting of escalated issues
- Responding to critical automatic server alerts and system outages
- Health monitoring, load and stress testing, and performance analysis of large-scale production systems
Requirements
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Experience with infrastructure as code model and tooling
- Experience with cloud native monitoring tools
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab
- Experience with virtualization or application containerization technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, problem solving skills, and critical thinking
- Very good command of English and communication skills
Any non-empty set of the following skills is considered a plus for the candidate:
- Experience with database management systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and configuration management systems, such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
- Experience with software development platforms, such as Ruby on Rails, .NET, Java, HTML5, Node.js, Python
