
Advance Auto Parts, Inc. operates more than 5,000 stores and 150 branches across the United States and Canada. The company sought a technology partner to develop its B2C mobile application as a cornerstone of its ongoing digital-transformation initiative.
The Advance Auto Parts app delivers a direct, always-on connection with customers — providing the products, information, and education they need anytime, anywhere. Designed to create a seamless and satisfying shopping experience, the app leverages emerging technologies and intuitive UX design to help users solve their automotive challenges with ease. Customers can find the right part quickly, check in-store or online availability, and order for pickup or delivery. They can also save vehicles to a virtual garage, locate nearby stores, and manage loyalty-program rewards.
To achieve exceptional performance and responsiveness, Astea and Advance Auto Parts chose to build the app with React Native. The backend was developed using cloud-native solutions such as AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda, powered by Node.js, to create a custom API layer integrating with the company’s e-commerce systems. These services now support all of Advance Auto Parts’ B2C applications, including its redesigned website — also developed with Astea’s engineering team.
Launched for iOS and Android in March 2020, the app has earned widespread positive reception. Ongoing development continues to add features and enhancements. For its partnership, Astea received Advance Auto Parts’ Partner of the Quarter award on August 20, 2020.
