Cap That is an application and Website devoted to unlocking images from videos, thus giving rise to a revolutionary consumer proposition and promotional tool. Cap That’s patent pending technology empowers users to stop time and capture their most desired moments in film, television, music, sports, home videos, and exclusive video shoots in order to create one-of-a-kind posters, canvas prints, photo prints, and virtual creations that can easily be shared across social networks.
Cap That’s backend was developed as a server-side Java application and provides a set of RESTful web services implemented using JAX-RS. The backend implements business logic supplementing the client-facing website functionality, including its online store, payment, and fulfillment workflows. Additionally, a Java-based server-side component orchestrates video and image processing required for efficient and scalable generation of high-quality snapshots from video clips. To this end, Cap That’s backend implements its own asynchronous, distributed messaging framework, thereby allowing for loose coupling of system components based on different development platforms and running on different physical machines.
Technologies used include: HTML 5, Adobe Flex for the front end, Java for the back end, MongoDB, ImageMagick and FFmpeg.
Astea Solutions developed Cap That in its entirety on behalf of Active ImageNation, Inc. of Los Angeles.
